Local FacilitiesMore than enough facilitiesThere's a small supermarket a few minutes away that provides many of the essential items you will need. There is a larger supermarket on the main street of the village next to the Co op Bank. The village has two butchers, a hairdresser and coffee shops where you will be welcomed by the local people to have a drink. There are two tavernas. At the Linos taverna in the middle of the village you can sample the local and traditional foods of Cyprus, not expensive and well worth a visit. Beware of the Zivaner offered as this is made locally and can have a bit of a kick. If you would like to sample fish there is also a fish tavern called ‘Nick’s’ where the fish is caught fresh every day and served to you that evening. This is an experience you will not want to miss as the fish is Swordfish and we have never tasted better. The local wine is made within the village and is inexpensive at £5 a bottle, you can have the house wine served in a traditional carafe at £3.50 cents and is very palatable. If you want to venture further into the other villages most of them are only a 15 - 25 minute car drive away. Limiassol is 30 minutes as is Paphos, where there you can mix with the tourists and enjoy the more hectic night life of bars and clubs. The temperature varies in the mountains from the main towns and can be lower as much as 10 degrees, but this is sometimes a bonus as the cool breeze is welcome after the heat of a summers day.
