Currency
The Cypriot pound
Cyprus although in the EU is not yet using the Euro until 1st January 2008. The local currency is the Cypriot pound. The value can fluctuate between 80 – 83 cents to the British pound. If you have a Marks and Spencer near that deals with currency exchange it's worth a visit as they give a good rate and do not charge commission. There are many ATM’s in Limassol and the Cyprus bank in Episkopi only 25 minutes away also has one. Cash is preferred in most shops and taverns but village tavern’s only take cash.
